Nine months is a tough age for baby toys. This is a time of transition from infant to toddler, and baby’s interest can swing from baby toys to big kid stuff in minutes.
For 9-month-old babies, classic learning toys and action toys are great gifts. Look for toys that are recommended for ages 1 year and up so that baby doesn’t outgrow the gift too soon.
The following toys will entertain baby now and through the toddler years, and would be a welcome gift for the 9 month old crowd.

This fun action mat is covered in interesting animals and birds. Each of the items produces distinguishable sounds such as the giraffe and monkey that rattle, the elephant that shakes and the parrot whose wings make crinkle sounds. 
The mat plays music and likewise has a mirror where the child may receive pleasure from looking at himself. This action mat is soft and lasting plus it travels without apparent effort as it folds almost flat.
