Keep your Baby boy Name Short and Simple

The alphabet A is a hot favourite with most parents according to astro-numerologist Anupam V Kapil. He adds, “The trend in India is for opting for successful names. “Adventurous and macho names are gaining popularity,” she says.

So are modern hero monickers, often taken from literature and movies, featuring Gatsby, Atticus and Landry. ‘New’ linking middle names are also the rage.

For some of the first babies of the year, Google search results are already in their favor. Kay’lyn, the first baby of Kentucky, has no other exact matches.

Mathea Jeannine, born at 12:02 a.m. in Alaska, is the top of Google results for her name, and the same goes for Carmon McKynli (not a last name) of Mississippi, Envy Essence-Faye of Nevada, Zoey Antoinette of Oregon, and Shekinah Rain Shanice of Texas.

Only one week into the new year, and thanks to the omnipresent Kardashians we may be in store for the worst baby name year ever — or perhaps the best depending on your tolerance for celebrity inspired monikers! Ready to hear what’s in the works for the babies of 2012?

Namecandy.com has put on their research caps and compiled a list of the names of the first baby born in each of our very fine United States in 2012. Forty-seven states are accounted for (tsk tsk Maryland, Minnesota and New Jersey), and based on their newest residents we anticipate name trends for the next 365 days.
