Smart Mommy Use Healthy Baby Diapers

Most diapers contain various plastic layers for wetness protection and chlorine bleached fibers to absorb wetness.

A number of manufacturers offer diapers with non-chlorine bleached fibers and reduced or less toxic plastic while still providing wetness protection.

In addition to buying them directly from the manufacturers, you can find them at traditional and at online retailers such as www.ourbabynews.com.

Those diapers are made by Cotton Babies, were developed for “everyday” people wanting to use cloth diapers versus disposable diapers.

That is, the all-in-one 3 snap design is simple and easy to use, without having to use any inserts or additional pieces.

The all-in-one cotton diapers come in 3 sizes and many colors and designs. The outer fabric is waterproof and eliminates the need for any additional protection on the outside. It is pretty genius!

Today all you need is just choosing diapers and putting them on the kid. Don’t worry, it’s quite simple process. A problem to choose the diapers is more important, believe me, because i mean it. Child nutrition directly affects the amount and frequency of child defecation and urination. Some nappies can protect your baby from getting wet, while others – can’t. Especially at night time a certain percentage of diapers can fail if the child urinates often. Therefore, you should choose the best diapers for newborns and for older children to guarantee their dry sleep.

There is many benefits to use cloth diaper. For example,it may keeps baby dry, incredible diaper savings, adjustable sizes,no messy or wet leaks, stays beautiful wash after wash, easy to use, quick drying, healthy for our environment and so on.

Mother’s Illness?

CAN A BABY BE AFFECTED BY A MOTHER’S ILLNESS?

Most people know that German measles -rubella – suffered by a mother during the first three months of pregnancy may affect her baby, leading to blindness, deafness, heart damage or other types of abnormality. Because of this danger, immunization against this mild infection is offered to all little girls, and every sensible young woman will ensure that she has been protected before she contemplates starting a pregnancy.

A routine test is made when she ‘books in’ at the hospital. If she is susceptible she should make sure she avoids contact with the illness (never visiting families with young children who might have it for example) and if she has small children herself who have not had the illness and who may catch it, should make sure they are kept away from known contacts.

It is only during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy that this matters; after that the baby can’t be harmed even if she catches the disease. If a woman does have contact with rubella during the crucial time, she should tell her doctor at once; an injection of a protective substance called gamma globulin can be given which will prevent the disease developing. But to be effective it must be given within ten days of the patient being in contact with the virus that causes it.

Does Your Baby Need Vitamins?

The jury is still out on the question of whether or not vitamins are necessary to raise a healthy baby. In fact, the trial isn’t even over yet, the evidence is still being brought to light. It appears that a full-term, healthy breastfed baby receives all the nutrition she needs from Mom. For formula-fed babies, the question is partly answered for you: Most are supplemented with vitamin D and iron (low- or hi-grade).

Then there’s fluoride, an element that helps form healthy teeth. Supplementation is recommended by the AAP for exclusively breastfed babies (starting at two to four weeks of age) but not formula-fed babies* who get it from tap water in most jurisdictions.

Once solid food is begun, the game is still rigged: Certain baby foods are already vitamin fortified. If she’s eating an overall balanced diet, she’ll get all the vitamins she needs.

Excess vitamins, in fact, are excreted by the kidneys or are never absorbed.

So don’t sweat this one: A healthy baby can take them or leave them.

Abnormal Breathing Patterns

There are certain breathing patterns that you should be concerned about.

Contact your doctor for any of the following:

  • Not breathing for 15-20 seconds OR a shorter period if your baby turns pale or blue.
  • Blue is worse than pale.
  • Call 911 immediately. (Yes, 15 or 20 seconds.
  • Even 5 seconds may seem like forever, but it can be a normal pause in a healthy baby who is calm, pink, and otherwise well in every way.)
  • Coughing in the first weeks of life is always a sign of a lower respiratory problem.
  • After two to three months, it can be a sign of a simple upper respiratory problem, like a cold.
  • Stridor, or noisy inspiration.

This may be heard best when baby is sleeping, or may give rise to coughing, choking, gagging and/or spluttering during feeding.
